Love and life
Adrift on an open sea

Always a current
An undertow
A whirlpool
Waits
Somewhere near and unseen

We float
We swim
We sink
Then rise once again

Until finally
Thankfully
We drift to the shore

Yet as a castle
Built of sea dampened sand
Washes out with the tide
Leaving it's builder
To begin again

So our sorrows
Wash us back to sea
Back to the beginning
Or so it would seem

But...
Through heartache and heartbreak
Laughter
Love and tears

We grow stronger
Swim harder
To reach that distant shore

This time seeking
Higher ground
To begin life once more
