She loved him enough
That she fought death
Lingering
Someplace between this world
And the next
She would not leave him
While he needed her here

He loved her enough to know
That she could not stay
With each shallow breath she drew
God called her away
"You have always been my strength"
He whispered and knew
That he was always her strength too
So he swallowed the tears
That later would flow

And whispered softly
"Its okay now...
I know you have to go"
With a sigh she slipped away
From this world of suffering and pain
Into the gates of heaven

She now sits by Jesus' side
Watching over her husband
And wistfully she sighs
"He loved me you know.
He loved me enough to let me go"
