THE DREAM

When I close my eyes I see
A place where children
Laugh and play without fear
For they live in a world full of peace

  In my dreams I watch
As the old and wise
Gather the young
To tell stories of their lives

As the night takes me deeper
Into blissful sleep
I smile and listen ‘neath the pale moonlight
To the sound of parents and children
Softy whispered prayers
Thanking God for his might

  All too soon
By morning I am torn
From the precious world
Which in my dreams is born.
