For the love of one
He sacrificed more than we could bear
Sending His Son into a world
Of sin and despair

For the love of one
He watched His Son grow
From child to man
Already knowing what His future would hold

For the love of one
He looked on with pride
As His Son was tempted
And Satan denied

For the love of one
He shed silent tears
While His Son was nailed to the cross
Amid laughter and jeers

For the love of one
The Son returned
Forgiving those
Whose lessons were learned

For the love of one
His flesh was torn
When on the cross He bore my sins
'Ere I was ever born
