Lightning streaks across the sky
As thunder rumbles
Disturbing the silence of night
As I watch in wonder
The miracle above
A smile paints my lips
For I am protected
Wrapped In God’s precious love
Wind plays amongst the trees
Cooling my skin
Like the kiss
Of a cool evening breeze
And as raindrops fall
To the sun-parched ground
I see in this summer storm
 The Father’s love for us abound
For though the night be long
Wrought with dangers
On the wind
Tomorrow we’ll see rainbows
A reminder
Of the covenant
Twixt God and man
