I hear people whisper in that whimsical sort of way
With a sorrow laden sigh
"Oh how I long for yesterday"
As wistfully they dream of days gone by

Me, I shall never long for the past
While the future lies in wait
My life is full of fond memories
But there are more yet to be made

"Oh for the golden years"
I have oft' heard people say
"If only I could have them back again
I would give anything to live in them today"

As for me, the golden years
Are the ones I have yet to face
They are the years I ever live in
And the years still far away

Yet there are many who will never know
The joys yet to come
For they'll live their future ever locked inside the past
Never finding all happiness
    The good ole' days
        The golden years
Waiting still to be discovered
Not to replace, but to add to the pleasant days they've had.

I have never been one to live my life that way
For each day is a precious gift
Each memory but a breath
That has already passed away.

So heed these words my friend
Live not for yesterday
Rather set your sights upon tomorrow
Look to that new and glorious day!
