=================================================================(Page 99)Sketch Number 1Emily Gelvin, was born May 26, 1811, in the state ofPennsylvania, and here spent the early years of her life,removing with her parents, in girlhood, to Neville, Ohio, wherethe greater part of her life was spent. She was married inNeville, Ma 20, 1830, to William Megibben, who was born inPennsylvania, June 4, 1808. They spent their entire wedded lifein Clermont County, Ohio. Mr. Megibben was called in those daysa “boatsman,” in connection with the “McMaths” of the samelocality. William Megibben died in Neville, Ohio, July 1, 1845,at the comparatively early age of thirty-seven years, and wasburied in the cemetery of the above named place. His widowcontinued to reside in Neville, though in the year 1854, she wentto Harrison County Ky., where her sons were located, and theresojourned for a brief period, afterwards returning to Ohio. Inautumn of the year 1857 she again went to Harrison County Ky., tovisit her children, who thinking the change would be beneficialto her health, had induced her to take the trip. While at thehome of her son, Thomas, she was summoned to the home beyond. Inanswer to that summons, she passed away November 5, 1857. Herremains were taken to Neville for interment, and placed besideher husband in the cemetery at that place.(Page 100)“The love of earth- how they pass away!
