In 1896, According to the Cynthiana Democrat Newspaper
Special Edition,he was a City Councilman. The 1900 census has him
andfamily living at what looks like 121 St. Manhattan, New
York.In 1930 census it has him retired living in Fairfield,
Connecticut. Deathin Kentucky deaths index. He was a half owner
with R.V. Bishop(who wasraised by T.J. Megibben after his fathers
death & workedfor the Megibbens.) est. 1887 and sold his half
to Mr. Bishop (thebusiness dist. whiskey brands like Edgewater,
Excelsior, Sharpe & others in Ohio, Indiana, W.Virginia,
Kentucky& Tennessee). In the 1896 June edition of the
Cynthiana DemocratNewspaper states J. W. Megibben had the finest
home on Church St.and was the social address at the time. Also
has a picture of the homewith his son James Wolford riding his
pony in front of the house.
